Today was good, I ordered my breakfast again and got up to the bathroom with some help. All I need help with is getting my leg out of bed. The nurses are so impressed by how well I am doing and I feel great!
Dad and Mike are on their way back to Boston today. Mom and Kevin came to the hospital around 10am just in time for my last PT exam…I had to walk up and down an entire flight of stairs! I was nervous but knew I could do it. After PT I had to go get x-rays which was fine. I felt much more on my own once I was able to use the crutches, it was a great feeling.
Dad and Mike came back to Boston and everyone went to dinner. I had to have a bowel movement before I could go home and it just wasn’t working! They gave me stool softeners but that was a no go so then they gave me a couple suppositories, then finally I thought I was going to explode while I was eating my dinner and no one was around. It seemed like years before a nurse came to help!! YAY…I had passed my final exam and was allowed to go home the next day. They everyone came back from dinner I shared the good news. PHEW!
Everyone left me to go home and I went to sleep. They left me alone a lot more since I was doing very well, I just needed help getting my leg out of bed to go to the bathroom but could do everything else by myself. Tomorrow I go home! (weather pending). Each day everything got easier and easier! It was amazing how that happens. They tell me that each time things get easier but I don’t believe it until it actually happened and they were right. Getting out of bed to pee was so easy, only help was with my leg.
