I want to try to keep updating things on here because obviously I'm not 100% things are still changing. I was doing Insanity as my workout a few weeks ago but after going away for a few weekends I kind of lost interest in that a bit, but then I started going back to the gym and have been for 2 weeks now. I was doing the typical elliptical, stretching, abs and some machines but lately I started jogging on the treadmill...mostly to see if I could, and second to get more of a full body work out. The first time I could only "jog" for a couple minutes, then I increased the incline and lowered the speed and did a fast walk, then put the speed up more for more of a jog. The next time I went, I was able to do 5 minutes on and off jogging and walking. I was partially tight before running, but then I'd do a brief warmup then stretch and then continue with the jogging which helped loosen the hips. When I was done, I was pretty tired and did a lot of stretching. Once I got home and sat down, my hips became very sore and very stiff! I assume that's pretty normal for what's going on inside me.
Today since the weather was so beautiful, I decided to go for a jog down to the beach with Kevin. We live one mile from the beach and basically it's all flat. We started with a nice speed walk to warm up then started the jog. I am very weak and out of shape so it was a VERY slow jog, but it still was one. I think we made it about 3/4mile before I had to walk. Then we walked a little and jogged the rest. I was so out of breath. We sat by the beach for a while, stretched and started back again. I could barely walk so it wasn't much of a jog. We did some short bursts. I am very exhausted and my hips are pretty sore and stuff. My quads are also sore.
Also, I forgot to mention yesterday Kevin and I went hiking! It was so much fun. I was prepared for a nice hike on a wide, easy trail. We started out on that kind of trail and it was nice...but we decided to switch trails and ended up basically rock climbing!! It was so intense but totally awesome.
Here are some pictures!
